South Korea’s Dental Implants Exports Reach Record High Amid Aging Population.

Seoul: South Korea’s exports of dental implants have reached an unprecedented high in the first nine months of this year, driven by the increasing global demand for quality dental products as the world’s population continues to age, the customs agency announced Wednesday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Korea Customs Service reported that outbound shipments of dental implants surged by 17.4 percent year-on-year, totaling US$653 million from January to September. This figure marks the highest recorded for this period, underscoring the robust growth in the sector.

“There has been an increasing demand for dental implants and relevant products in line with the global trend of population aging. South Korean companies are major manufacturers in the sector,” an official from the agency stated, highlighting the country’s significant role in the global dental implant market.

In the previous year, South Korea’s dental implants exports reached a record yearly high of $788 million. The country was identified as t
he second-largest exporter of dental implants worldwide, following Switzerland, the agency revealed.
