TPB Philippines Crowned Best National Tourism Organization in Asia


BANGKOK, THAILAND – The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, the marketing wing of the Department of Tourism (DOT), clinched the title of Best National Tourism Organization in Asia for the second consecutive year at the 33rd Annual TTG Travel Awards.



According to Philippines News Agency, the award ceremony, held on September 26, 2024, in Bangkok, celebrated the best of Asia’s travel and tourism sector. Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco expressed immense pride in TPB’s achievement, which underscores the Philippine government’s ambition to position the country as a top-tier tourism destination under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s administration. “This prestigious award reflects our commitment to making the Philippines a premier destination in Asia,” Frasco stated.



The award also highlights TPB’s successful participation in the Incentive Travel and Conventions Meetings Asia (ITandCMA), which generated over PHP1.7 billion in initial sales leads. This achievement illustrates the Philippines’ growing influence in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector. TPB’s Chief Operating Officer, Marga Nograles, emphasized that the recognition from travel professionals worldwide serves as a testament to the trust and confidence in the Philippine tourism sector.



This year’s TTG Travel Awards drew participants from across the region and recognized 106 entities for their contributions to the travel industry. Among other Philippine recipients were Fairmont Makati for Best Hotel in Manila, Conrad Manila for Best Business Hotel in the Philippines, Okada Manila for Best Meetings and Conventions Hotel in the Philippines, and SMX Convention Center for Best Convention and Exhibition Center in the Philippines.
