SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA — Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca has impacted 30,543 families across 16 municipalities in Antique, with the provincial government appealing for aid, as the storm also caused one death.
According to Philippines News Agency, heavy rains from Bebinca triggered flash floods, especially affecting the towns of Belison, Sibalom, and Barbaza. The storm damaged 164 houses, 24 of which were completely destroyed. The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office confirmed that one fatality, Rogelio Estocado, 67, was swept away by floodwaters in Pandan. Additionally, reports indicate that 25 tombs were washed out in Sebaste, with further validation ongoing. Relief efforts, including the distribution of family food packs, are underway for the affected families.
