Vice President Sara Duterte Initiates Nationwide ‘PagbaBAGo’ Bag Distribution to Support Students

CALOOCAN CITY – Vice President Sara Duterte spearheaded the nationwide distribution of ‘PagbaBAGo’ bags on Friday, aiming to mitigate financial challenges faced by Filipino families by supplying essential school items to young students.

According to Philippines News Agency, the event marked the distribution of at least 3,500 bags to Grade 1 through Grade 4 learners across the country. Each ‘PagbaBAGo’ bag is equipped with two notebooks, two pens, three pencils, a box of crayons, a sharpener, an eraser, a ruler, a plastic envelope, a raincoat, a bag tag, resealable plastic, and dental kits including a toothbrush and toothpaste.

“Vice President Sara Duterte personally graced and led Friday’s distribution of ‘PagbaBAGo’ bags at the Ma’had Norol Yaqeen Litahfidil Qur’an (Madrasah School) in Caloocan City,” stated the OVP. The initiative was not limited to Caloocan; distributions also occurred in 16 other elementary public schools across various provinces, facilitated by the OVP’s 10 satellite offices.

Reflecting on the broader impact of this initiative, the OVP’s July accomplishment report indicated that around 200,000 bags have been distributed from May 2023 to April 2024, highlighting the sustained effort to support educational access and readiness among young learners.
