Viewing Parties Planned for MassKara Festival’s Arena Dance Event

BACOLOD: The Bacolod Yuhum Foundation, the organization behind the 45th MassKara Festival, has announced plans to hold viewing parties in local shopping malls for the festival’s arena dance event on Sunday, which marks the final day of the celebration. This decision aims to provide an alternative viewing experience for festival-goers, particularly those who may face challenges in accessing the main venue.

According to Philippines News Agency, the organizers have issued a reminder advising individuals with disabilities, senior citizens, pregnant women, and those accompanied by children under 10 years old to avoid attending the event at the Paglaum Sports Complex. This advisory aims to ensure the safety and comfort of all attendees. Instead, these groups are encouraged to watch the performances at designated viewing areas in major shopping malls such as Robinsons Bacolod, Ayala Malls Capitol Central, SM City Bacolod, and GT 888 Mall Bacolod.

The arena dance competition will feature seven participating village
s vying for the title, with a grand prize of PHP1 million at stake. The competitors include the defending champion, Barangay Granada, alongside Barangays Bata, 21, 35, 6, 12, and 18. The performers will parade through Bacolod’s major streets before culminating their routines at the sports complex.

Preceding the arena dance competition, the festival will feature the Electric Float Parade and Elektroika Diva on Saturday night. This event will see participation from 10 barangays, including Pahanocoy, 19, 5, 17, 39, 29, 10, 8, 36, and 11, and will take place at the Bacolod City Government Center.
