Xi Advocates Strengthened China-North Korea Relations in Message to Kim Jong-un


BEIJING: Chinese President Xi Jinping has conveyed his readiness to enhance bilateral ties and foster peace both regionally and globally in a message to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. This communication was reported by North Korea’s state media on Sunday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the message from President Xi was sent on Wednesday as a response to a prior message from Kim. The North Korean leader had reached out on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of China’s founding in 1949. Xi’s message emphasized the enduring bond between China and North Korea, describing them as nations connected by shared geography and a longstanding friendship that continues to grow stronger over time.

In his message, Xi expressed his willingness to collaborate with Kim, referring to him as “Comrade General Secretary,” to further the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between China and North Korea. Xi emphasized the importance of sustainable and stable development, enhancing the welfare of both countries’ peo
ples, and ensuring peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region and globally.
