Seoul: President Yoon Suk Yeol addressed concerns over North Korea’s deployment of troops to Russia, labeling the action as “dangerous and unprecedented” during a meeting with delegates from five Central Asian countries. He emphasized the need for an international response to this development, which he believes endangers global peace and security.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Yoon highlighted that North Korea’s military cooperation with Russia violates international law and U.N. Security Council resolutions. He pointed out that the situation is not limited to the transfer of military weapons but extends to the deployment of special forces, which he described as a significant escalation.
Yoon urged the Central Asian nations to use their diplomatic channels to help curb the military cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow. He stressed the importance of a united international community to address the challenges posed by the actions of Russia and North Korea.
