Yoon Urges Aides to Expedite Reform Agenda Implementation.


Seoul: President Yoon Suk Yeol on Monday instructed his senior aides and the Cabinet to swiftly proceed with his reform agenda, Yoon’s spokesperson announced. Yoon emphasized the importance of moving forward with the agenda during a meeting held with his senior aides earlier in the day, as conveyed by presidential spokesperson Jeong Hye-jeon in a written briefing.

According to Yonhap News Agency, with the halfway mark of Yoon’s five-year term approaching this month, the presidential office plans to conduct policy briefings throughout the week. These briefings aim to assess major accomplishments and outline the government’s future policy directions. On Tuesday, Sung Tae-yoon, the chief of staff for policy, is expected to present an overview of the Yoon administration’s key policies and reform initiatives from the past two and a half years, along with the government’s forthcoming steps.

The following day, Principal Deputy National Security Adviser Kim Tae-hyo is set to address achievements in foreign policy a
nd security, along with future tasks. Kim is anticipated to cover a range of topics, including North Korea’s dispatch of troops to Russia in support of its war in Ukraine, relations with the United States after the Nov. 5 presidential election, and other pressing issues.
