Zaragosa and Taruc Win 13-15 Category at ICTSI Junior Philippine Golf Tour in Luisita

MANILA—Precious Zaragosa secured the girls’ 13-15 title at the ICTSI Junior Philippine Golf Tour Luzon Series 5 at Luisita Golf and Country Club in Tarlac on Thursday, finishing with a 73 for a total of 221 over 54 holes. Zaragosa, a 13-year-old student at Learning Links Academy, outperformed her competitors, winning by eight strokes over Mona Sarines, who finished with a total of 229.

According to Philippines News Agency, her putting was off during the front nine, but she managed to recover with strong shots on the back nine, inspired by her father, Boyet, who followed her closely during the final holes. This victory marks Zaragosa’s second triumph in the series, following her win at Splendido Taal in May.

In the boys’ category, Jakob Taruc claimed the title with a total of 225 after finishing his round with a 77. Taruc narrowly held off John Paul Agustin, Jr., who closed with a 79 for a total of 235. Zianbeau Edoc finished third with a total of 248. Taruc, who recently won at Riviera, expressed that playing it safe in the early holes almost backfired, but he managed to maintain his lead.
